Message Notes

This service will look a little different as we take space to reflect on the past year and where we noticed God at work in our lives. Below will be listed the different sections and scriptures that go along with them. You can also view or download the PDF of the guide that we will work through in the service.

Presence

Find a comfortable place to slow down, be still, and sit in God’s loving presence.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

Psalm 139:7-10
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6:35

Gratitude

Take some time to reflect on some of the things you are grateful for from this past year.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17

Review

Pray that you would be open to see the things God wants to show you. Be open to ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ events and patterns from this last year that God might want you to be aware of and speak to you about.

Response

Prayerfully ask God to help you come up with a realistic way to respond in faith this year to what He’s shown you.

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

Psalm 1:1-3
