Following Jesus looks like moving closer to Him, and closer to others, one step at a time.
No matter where you're starting from, the invitation Jesus offers us is the same: follow me. The Bible consistently describes a relationship with God as a walk. Rather than a one-time decision you make, it's a direction you choose every day. Jesus isn't looking for people who have it all figured out. He's looking for people who are willing to take the next step toward Him. As Abraham discovered, sometimes that means moving before you fully understand where you're headed. Following Jesus is less about having all the answers and more about trusting the One who does.
God loves you right where you are, and He loves you too much to leave you there.
What does following Jesus look like?
Everyone's journey looks different. No two people are starting from the same place or moving at the same pace — and that's okay. But we believe there are three essential elements that, when woven together, create the conditions for genuine, Spirit-empowered transformation.
Communion
Growing closer to Jesus
At the center of following Jesus is a real, growing relationship with Him. This happens as we spend time in Scripture, in prayer, and in worship — not as obligations to check off a list, but as rhythms that shape who we are becoming. What we learn on Sunday should impact how we live on Monday. We don't just want to know about Jesus — we want to know Jesus, and let that knowledge change us from the inside out.
Community
Growing closer to others
Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. We were created for relationship, and real spiritual growth happens in the context of real community — people who know us, challenge us, and walk with us through the mess of life. We all have blind spots. We all need people around us who love us too much to let us stay stuck. Whether that's a small group, a serve team, or a simple friendship built around faith, community is not optional — it's essential.
Co-mission
Joining God's work in the world
Disciples aren't just formed in classrooms — they're formed on mission. As we follow Jesus, we become people who join His work outside the walls of the church, practically loving our neighbors and serving our community. Following Jesus always moves us outward. It's not enough to grow in knowledge if that growth doesn't lead to action. We believe transformation comes from faith-filled action — from actually doing the things Jesus did.
