Message Notes
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47

Bottom Line

Becoming a Jesus-centered community isn’t just a part of life, it’s a way of life.

Obstacles to Jesus-centered community:

  • Western Individualism
  • Relational Messiness

A Jesus-centered community comes about through the work of the Holy Spirit.

A Jesus-centered community is a contrast community.

Action Steps

  1. If you’re here and looking to deepen community, would you consider showing up 10 minutes early before services to get to know new people?
  2. If you aren’t connected to a small group, would you pray about taking that step?
  3. If you are in a group, how could you practice these four things together? Where are you doing this well? What might be missing?
  4. Who around you is in need of community? Who could you invite to join in with your group of friends?
