This won’t be your typical small group book study. My hope and prayer is that this group provides ideas, structure, and accountability to actually practice and try out new habits in our homes over the course of 5 months.
The most important thing you will ever do as a parent is introduce your child to Jesus and model a life that is shaped by a devotion to God. Habits of the Household is all about modeling that life and leading our kids in the small, ordinary, everyday rhythms of life. Rather than wait for “perfect” moments, we’ll find God and his mission at the center of our loud, crazy, wonderful family.
If you want to gather tools and ideas for leading your kids, if you are in a season where you feel stuck as a parent, or if you want a space where you will be welcomed by parents in a similar life stage, this may be the group for you!
Note: The ideas discussed in this book are geared more toward younger children; however, I’m certain that even with older kids, you can find ways to modify the practices to best suit your family.
If you sign up for this group, please be willing to make the large group sessions a priority. If the dates for this group don’t work out, let me know you’re interested. If there is enough interest, I’d be happy to consider running this group another time in the year.
This group will meet monthly for 5 sessions. This will be a time to connect, reflect on how new practices have been going, learn from each other, and orient ourselves to the new content for the upcoming month. Food (often pizza) and childcare will be provided for kids while we meet.
The majority of this group will consist of the practices and habits we hope to establish between each large group gathering. We will take ideas or new habits discussed in the book and work to establish them in our own homes. Additionally, your workbook will have 3 separate personal studies that I will encourage you to do weekly on your own or with your spouse.
Please order a copy of the book and study guide. You may order one for each person or share as a couple. Before our first meeting, you will read chapters 1 and 10 in your book for us to discuss together. I will be making small adjustments to the content in the study guide. Additionally, I would encourage you to not work or read too far ahead. The goal is to discuss, do, and debrief all of this together.
If you are interested in utilizing childcare during our large group sessions, please register your children here.
