Message Notes
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
James 4:13-15
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
Psalm 103:15-16
I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish? Yet they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 2:18-19

"Where there is enough of everything, where we are not trying to fill a void in ourselves or the world...the clock does not stop, of course, but we do not hear it ticking"
- Gary Eberle

A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?
Ecclesiastes 2:24-25

Action Steps

  • In what areas of my life am I trying to fit too much in? Where am I embracing quantity over quality?
  • What are the top (3? 5?) priorities God wants me to focus on in this season of my life?
  • Where do these sit in the ACTUAL priorities of my life?

  • Say 'no' to something that's keeping you from giving your best 'yes' to one of the top priorities God wants for you right now.
