Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I’d toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun
Jesus-shaped love makes a life worth living.
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
A new command I give to you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay our lives down for one another
1 John 3:16
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
“When Jesus says I have come to give you life more abundantly, He’s not talking about a life of comfort, He’s talking about a life of meaning. He’s calling us to the challenge of following Him, a challenge so purposeful and hopeful that suffering for His sake becomes a reward.”
