Some More Changes to the Prayer Guide
Over the next couple of months we're going to be experimenting with some changes to the prayer guide. Our goal is to help you to engage in prayer more consistently and in ways you might not have experienced before. For our next sermon series we're going to try connecting the prayer guide to the Sunday topics, but for this week we are going to pray related to the year in review we did this last Sunday. If you didn't get a chance to participate in the service, head on over to the website to check it out.
Find a comfortable place to slow down, be still, and wake up to God's loving presence.
Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Take some time to reflect on some of the things you are grateful for from this past year. Some categories to focus on could be relationships, growth opportunities, spiritual blessings, health, meaningful experiences, material blessings.
Thank God specifically for the things that come to mind.
17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day: Preserve us with your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
