We are a missions oriented church helping you and your family experience Christ in a new and vital way. We train people to support and nurture spiritual growth through individual relationships, small groups and celebration gatherings, so they can glorify God with a more fulfilled life in a caring Christian community.
We believe that God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal, and all are one God. We believe God created the universe by His power and Word. We believe that God is all knowing, all powerful and ever present.
We believe Jesus Christ is co-equal to God the Father. We believe Jesus was mysteriously and wonderfully sent to our earth to be God in the flesh. He is the perfect reflection of God's heart, character, beauty and love for people. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. Through faith in Jesus, we have been forgiven and brought into a right relationship with God. Jesus rose from the dead to demonstrate His power and authority over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and one day will return to judge the world and restore all things to God's original intent.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is sent from God to live in all who put faith in Jesus. The Holy Spirit teaches, comforts, convicts and empowers us, giving each person diverse gifts for serving in the church and serving others in the world on the mission of God. We believe that it is through the Holy Spirit that we have the power to change and develop a holy life and Jesus-like character to be lived out to the fullest here on earth.
We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired by God, written by those He chose as His authors. It's content is entirely trustworthy and is guidance for how we live our lives in love, truth and faith. We hold a high view of Scripture and place great significance on its authority in our lives as it is the ultimate authority of God's will.
We believe a New Testament church is a local body of believers who have agreed together to love God, love each other, and serve the world. We believe that the church does not exist for itself, but exist as a community of Christ followers who are here to serve others, as Jesus told us to be His light, love, compassion, kindness and hope to the world around us.
We believe that Jesus, through His death on the cross, provided salvation for all. However, to receive salvation one must repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ alone. The true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation. He may, however, lose his joy by sin and bring the loving discipline of the Father upon himself. Our broken relationship with God is restored through Jesus' death on the cross, a perfect act of redemption for each of us. We believe everyone can receive the free gift of forgiveness and be spiritually reborn through repenting (changing our mind and heart) of our sin and placing faith in Jesus alone. All who have received Christ will, at death, depart to be with Christ in their spirits and at Christ's return receive a new body which will be like His glorious body.
We believe that life continues after physical death and that there is a heaven and a hell. We feel a personal relationship and commitment to Christ is the only way to heaven and that Jesus will one day return and bring justice and judgment to all things. Scripture teaches that our bodies will be resurrected when Christ returns. Those who followed Him in life will be raised to life
(I Corinthians 15:20-23); those who did not will be raised to judgment (John 5:28, 29). The return of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent, will be personal, visible, and pre-millennial (Hebrews 10:37; Luke 21:27). We believe Christ will literally reign on earth for 1000 years at his second coming.
At Crosspoint, we believe that scripture teaches that communion is one of two ordinances that Christ gave the church to keep. The other ordinance is Baptism. The Lord's Supper is an object lesson that represents a great spiritual truth to believers.
We observe communion on the first weekend of each month. Everyone is welcome to partake, all we ask is that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
The Bible tells us in Acts 8:12 and 13 that all believers are to be baptized. Baptism does NOT get you to Heaven. Only faith in Christ makes a believer and only by accepting Christ do we secure salvation and eternity in Heaven. Jesus asks us to be baptized and modeled this to us by being baptized as an adult. Crosspoint Community Church does not baptize children until they are old enough to articulate their understanding and belief. A baby does not need to be baptized to go to heaven. A child is totally under God's spiritual care until they are old enough to make their own decision to accept Christ.
The Bible tells us that baptism is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection. It is a symbol of new life in Christ - a symbol that tells others that you are a believer. Much like a wedding ring, it is an outward sign of an inward commitment.
Baptism does not MAKE you a believer - it shows that you ARE a believer. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith….it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:9).
People often ask what happens if a baby or young child dies. A baby does not need to be baptized to go to heaven. A child is totally under God’s spiritual care until old enough to make a decision for Christ. Salvation is guaranteed to children who die before the age of accountability. This is based on the nature of God as revealed through Christ. The child has not yet come to the age when he can accept or reject Christ. Therefore, Christ’s atonement covers all who die before reaching the age of accountability.
The child dedication is the parent's commitment to offer their child to the Lord and to dedicate themselves to raising the child for the glory of God.
Our goal is to:
Help parents recognize that children are a gift from God.
Facilitate the parent's verbal commitment to raise their child in a Christian environment
Challenge parents to be examples in service and worship for their children
Assist parents in laying a firm foundation of learning about God and an example of the power of salvation for their children.
