MIGHTY KIDZ SUPERVISOR

Type & Date: Part-Time (25 hours per week) / Effective Immediately 

Reports to: Director of Children’s Ministry

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Mighty Kidz Supervisor will be the principal developer and overseer for all 1st-5th grade programming during weekend services as well as assist with midweek children’s programming within Children’s Ministries. This individual will be responsible for leading and strengthening both ministries while partnering with parents and volunteers to encourage a community committed to discipling children well. This person will recruit, coordinate and empower a team of volunteers to carry out ministry as a church community. This person will be a compassionate, highly adaptive leader with excellent organizational skills. He or she will have a passion for helping kids develop and deepen their faith in Christ.

  • Firm grasp of child development and ability to facilitate age appropriate spiritual growth

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and nurture effective relationships with children, families and ministry team members

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently and effectively plan and manage multiple details for ongoing programming (set goals, delegate tasks, assess progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure success)

  • Diligence and consistent follow-through necessary to successfully carry out ongoing programming

  • High personal motivation and willingness to work long hours when required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Musical ability is desired but not required

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Program Development- Oversee program development for 1st-5th grade and midweek programming as detailed below. 

  • 1st-5th Grade: Crosspoint offers programming tailored specifically for 1st-5th graders with the current program name of “Mighty Kidz.” The supervisor for this program will be responsible for developing and executing programming consistent with the objectives of the children’s ministry while creatively collaborating with staff and families to engage students throughout the year, as well as to prepare them for the transition into the middle school ministry. Specific duties may include; weekly teaching/leading large group, a Saturday service night rotation, scheduling and communicating with volunteers and stepping in to fill gaps when needed.

  • Midweek: Crosspoint Children’s Ministry is currently running a midweek program named Kidz Connect. Kidz Connect is aimed at uniting families and encouraging spiritual disciplines at home. Kidz Connect also strives to pursue a partnership with the local community to develop a relationship between the children and families of the Kidz Connect program and members of the community. The supervisor will work alongside of the children’s team and closely with parents to ensure suitable programming for healthy partnership in discipling children.

2. Team Development + 1-on-1 Buddy Supervisor- Recruit, coordinate and nurture a team of volunteers committed to discipling children and to supporting one another as Christ’s body. This person will also act as the primary coordinator for our 1-on-1 Buddy program. This program partners specific volunteers to serve as a 1-on-1 support for kids with special needs during our weekend programming. 

3. Contact and Coordination- Act as primary contact for 1st-5th grade and midweek programs. Oversee and coordinate all activities (planning, scheduling, training, preparing materials) to ensure engaging delivery of all lessons and worship. Collaborate with other staff to ensure cohesiveness across all children’s ministry programs. 

4. Special Events- Collaborate with other staff to produce inviting and meaningful family events and experiences within the children’s ministry. 

5. Technological Support - Work with technology to enhance the programming as well as the communication with the children and the staff.
